I have sent in my visa application to the Sri Lankan High Commission in Ottawa. Now, it is just a waiting game for them to approve it and send it back. They say you only need a month. I have given myself over 2 months to get the visa approval. I need a special endorsement as I want to convert it into a residence visa once I get there.
I have also started to make my last move in Canada. As of Thursday this week, I will be living at my friends the Marions; my last port of call in Canada.
There are a lot of lasts being checked off my list. This past weekend, my friend Pamela and I went for a beach walk. The weather was spectacular and I walked in bare feet on the lovely cool sand. It was a perfect day and a perfect book end. When I moved to Qualicum 11 years ago, Pamela, Blake and I walked on the same beach and would burst out simultaneously: "We live here!" Qualicum really is a magical place, especially when the weather is like it has been for the last couple of weeks. I am glad I get to carry so many good memories with me.
